Telling the Story of Hurricane Ian’s Devastation
Getting the chance to tell the story of Hurricane Ian’s devastation is one of the most meaningful projects I’ve brought to life. Working with our partner, Geneverse Generators, I had the chance to visit ground zero and shine a light on how the community was impacted by this Category 4 storm. The resulting work was recognized with an Emmy for long-form storytelling. With the support of the production team I managed at Brandon, I produced, directed and scripted the work you see here.
It was heartbreaking to see the devastation that was done to Ft. Myers and its residents. I had the chance to lead the interviews of several victims of the storm and hear their stories. I also led and directed our crew in capturing the powerful visuals of the impact the storm left behind in its wake. The work was part of a larger PR campaign to show how Geneverse’s products provide power to people in disaster areas and to highlight the generous donation of equipment to people in need.
